Rodents in Middlesbrough

When you think of common pest control problems, rodents are the first thing that comes to mind. In Middlesbrough, pest control services which tackle rat and mice control are essential, as these are some of the most common pests found in the area.

We offer our customers the latest and most effective extermination and deterrent treatment services against:

Brown Rats (Rattus norvegicus)

Brown Rats are extremely good burrowers who cause pest control problems in domestic and commercial properties alike.

They carry a range of diseases and can chew through almost anything, causing a fire risk when they target electrical wires.

Black Rats (Rattus rattus)

Reduced in numbers by the rise of the invasive brown rat, these pests are smaller in size and usually cause the most problems in properties near port towns and cities having arrived from abroad.

They will eat almost anything from grain and cereals, to live vertebrates and insects so have been known to target food warehouses and domestic homes.

Like the brown rat, these rodents transmit a range of diseases harmful to humans, and as excellent swimmers often burrow in drainage pipes which can compromise the foundations of a property.

Mice (Mus musculus)

Mice may look less threatening than rats, and they are certainly a lot smaller, but they can be just as destructive and if you have an infestation it will need to be dealt with using professional pest control company services.

A greyish brown colour, with a body around 10cm long, house mice breed at a very fast rate and without swift action, a population can quickly spiral out of control.

Grey Squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis)

Since coming to these shores in the 1800s Grey Squirrels have spread like wildfire across the country and the Middlesbrough and North Yorkshire area is no exception.

Often described as tree rats, these rodents may look fluffy and cute in your local park or up a tree but when they invade your property it’s a very different story.

These pests can be extremely noisy using their long teeth to constantly gnaw on wood. If they get into your attic or walls you may hear them almost constantly, especially at night.

This not only prevents sleep, work, and negatively impacts on your quality of life, but also can indicate that significant property damage is taking place.

Like all other rodents, squirrels are not particularly choosy about what they bite into and therefore pose the same fire risk should they target electrical wires.

Clark Pest Control will provide a comprehensive extermination service for all these rodents with your assigned pest technician using a combination of rodenticides, trapping, and installing preventative measures that will prevent your pest problem from reoccurring in the future.

Birds

Pest birds roosting on domestic or commercial properties can cause a range of problems, spreading diseases, causing property damage, and creating an unsanitary environment.

The most common bird species our pest technicians provide pest control solutions for include:

• Gulls (Laridae)
• Feral Pigeons (Columba livia)
• Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris)
• House Sparrows (Passer domesticus)
• Crow (Corvidae)

All these birds can be a nightmare to live with for home and business owners alike, but all is not lost.

We will conduct a survey to determine the best solution to your bird infestation and use the latest technology to provide the most comprehensive bird deterrents anywhere in Middlesbrough.

Pest control services we offer for dealing with bird infestations:

• Bird Spikes – Highly customisable and effective, bird spikes will stop pest birds from landing in common roosting spots on your property from ledges and roofs to signs and windowsills. These ‘spikes’ are actually blunt points that will deter birds without harming or killing them which is illegal without a permit.
• Bird Netting – Bird netting is the best way to stop pest birds from going where you won’t want them. Available in a range of sizes, materials, and colours, bird netting can be used in a huge range of situations from stretching across between multi-storey commercial factory roofs to protecting a single vegetable patch in a domestic garden.
